  The Member Services Committee is responsible for maintaining and enhancing OTAC member benefits and for recruiting new members. We're looking for members from all over Colorado to join our committee and create exciting, innovative events and meetups to fully immerse Colorado OTPs in the community.

  The Professional Development Committee serves to provide professional development opportunities for the Association’s members. The Professional Development Committee tasks may include coordinating continuing education opportunities, collaborating with leaders of Districts and/or Special Interest Sections, and overseeing student representatives.
  

  Getting involved is a great way to expand the impact of OTAC and earn contact hours!

  Individuals must be an OTAC member to volunteer as a committee member. Not a member yet? Feel free to jump in for one meeting to see what it is all about. OTAC membership supports important advocacy efforts for Colorado OTPs, and is instrumental in bringing topics before the Legislature. We love our members, as we quite literally couldn't do this without you - thank you for being here!

• Understanding and Navigating the DME Bill: Practical Applications for Clinicians

  Join OTAC and APTA Colorado for an informative and collaborative session focused on the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) bill and its real-world implications for occupational and physical therapy practitioners.

  This event will provide a comprehensive overview of the DME bill, including:

  • When and how to effectively utilize the bill in clinical practice

  • Best practices for working with DME suppliers, clients, physicians, and insurance providers

  • Documentation tips to support DME justification and reimbursement

  • Successes and challenges clinicians are currently experiencing with the bill

  Whether you’re just getting familiar with the DME bill or looking to refine your approach, this is a valuable opportunity to learn, ask questions, and share your experiences with fellow practitioners and policy advocates.

• EDJI Committee

  Equity, Diversity, Justice and Inclusion (EDJI) Committee

  This committee will meet virtually, bi-monthly,,  at 6:30PM.

  The EDJI Committee will support the EDJI Chair by collaborating closely to advance initiatives that address systemic inequalities and promote occupational justice within the occupational therapy community in Colorado. The committee will assist in developing and implementing strategies to mitigate bias and foster inclusion, ensuring diverse representation and perspectives are considered in all efforts. By organizing town hall meetings, providing educational resources, and advocating for policy changes, the committee will bolster the EDJI Chair's efforts to promote culturally responsive care and align with the AOTA Code of Ethics. Additionally, the committee will work with the EDJI Chair and Secretary to review and update EDJI relevant standard operating procedures, support outreach to marginalized populations, and engage with community organizations, thereby reinforcing the Chair's mission to create a more inclusive and equitable occupational therapy profession.

• Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) Working Meeting

  OTAC is considering introducing legislation in 2027 for OTPs to be recognized as Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) in Colorado.
