Colorado Representative to the Representative Assembly (RA) 2020-2023
Hello! I want to introduce myself as your representative to the Representative Assembly (RA) with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). I have been a clinician and AOTA member for nearly 30 years, with the last five years in academia. I have enjoyed serving with AOTA since becoming a practitioner. My service roles have included the Fellowship Program Review Committee and the former Residency Committee, the Board for Advanced and Specialty Certification, liaison for the AOTA Specialties Board, and the Eating and Feeding Task Force. I have also been a member of the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado and a member/secretary for the Legislative Committee. Within AOTA, I often served three years or more in each role.
I am a strong advocate for service and occupational therapy at a state and national level. I believe it is our responsibility to contribute to the profession as a whole. I enjoy working with others to achieve a goal and ensure everyone is included in the process. I strive for time efficiency and organization. I am passionate about occupational therapy and preparing students for engagement in their professional associations. I want students to experience that their voice counts and help them become leaders and become excellent, ethical practitioners. In my new role with the RA, I seek to serve occupational therapy practitioners from Colorado to ensure their voice is heard at the national level.
Feel free to reach out to me with your ideas and suggestions. I’d love to hear from you. You can reach me at CORep@ra.aota.org.
