Student Representative: Colorado Mesa University

Gabriana Schommer, OTS

What do you love about OT?

I love the holistic approach that OT offers through helping individuals participate in specific occupations meaningful to them.

How did you choose this profession?

I chose this profession after volunteering at several therapeutic horse farms and observing OTs changing lives. After becoming passionate about the human brain through studying psychology, I wanted to direct that knowledge towards helping people participate in life to their fullest.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC student representative?

I wanted to become an OTAC student representative to broaden my connections with other OTs in Colorado and learn more about the developments of the profession in my state.

What's your favorite thing to do in Colorado?

My favorites thing to do in Colorado are hiking and taking long drives through the mountains!
