Presenter Biographies 

 

Presenter: Kimberly Soults, OTR/L
Bio: Kimberly is a neurodivergent occupational therapist with a passion for neurodiversity-affirming care. Kimberly received her doctorate from Creighton University where she completed a doctoral capstone on identifying best practices for neurodiversity-affirming care and disseminating this information to a diverse audience including educators, therapists, pediatricians, and others working with neurodivergent clients. Kimberly has a background as a professional ballet dancer and over a decade experience as an adaptive yoga teacher, which led to an interest in neuroscience and the mind-body connection’s role in trauma and mental health. Kimberly is also passionate about patient rights, policy, and legislation that affects our practice and clients.

  Presenter: Lindsey Trott,  OTD, MOT, M.Ed, OTR/L
Bio:  Lindsey became an Occupational Therapist after teaching special education in Houston, TX. She earned her BA from Rice University, M.Ed. from the University of St. Thomas, and MOT from Texas Woman’s University – Houston Center in the Texas Medical Center.


She moved to Colorado to complete her level II fieldwork. She trained in Denver at a subacute rehabilitation facility and an inclusive preschool. Her first job as a licensed practitioner was in acute care in Frisco at St. Anthony Summit Medical Center.

In 2023 Lindsey earned her post-professional OTD at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions with a concentration in aging. She lives in Craig and loves working with older and elderly adults at Casey’s Pond in Steamboat Springs. Her favorite occupations include quilting and skiing.

  Presenter: Megan Gardner, M.S. CCC-SLP
Bio: Megan Gardner, MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed SLP with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Oklahoma. Since 2013, she has worked in schools, clinics, inpatient rehab, SNFs, and pediatric home health. Over the past seven years, she has specialized in pediatric feeding disorders (PFD), with 50–75% of her caseload focused on PFD. Megan is a mentor and co-developer of the COFK Feeding Mentorship Program, training SLPs and collaborating with occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) to support interdisciplinary care. She currently co-treats feeding patients with OTPs at Care Options for Kids (COFK). Her diverse clinical experience supports her strong belief in the value of co-treatment and collaboration when managing complex feeding cases.

  Presenter: Kit Elstad (they/them)

Bio:  Originally from Syracuse, NY, Kit and their family made the move to Colorado last year to be closer to the mountains that they love to explore and photograph. Kit is a Library Media Specialist in the Poudre School District and was a Librarian in the Syracuse City School district for 11 years prior to that where they also ran the Adventures Education Program for the Expeditionary Learning Middle School. In that role they had the distinct pleasure of taking students on adventures where they got to step outside their comfort zones to go camping, hiking, and complete ropes courses. One of Kit’s proudest accomplishments was making sure that these experiences were accessible to all students. Over the past few years Kit has delved into photography as a way to continue to engage with the outdoors and nature while dealing with chronic illnesses and limited mobility and is always looking for ways to share that passion with others. 


Kit is a 2012 Graduate of Syracuse University (SU) with their Masters in Library and Information Science: School Media and has a Certificate of Advanced Study from SU in Cultural Heritage Preservation (2017) and a Certificate of Advanced Study from Montana State University in Native American Studies (2020). Their goal is to always fuel curiosity in themselves and others and help people find the adventure in the everyday.

Presenter: Ryan Kepler, MOT, OTR/L
Bio: Ryan is an Occupational Therapist and the Senior Director of Rehab for my company in Colorado. He has an MOT from Colorado State and has worked with older adults across subacute rehab, assisted living and independent living facilities. He has led education workshops for his company on implementing group therapy with older adults that is patient-focused, occupation-based and evidence-driven. He is passionate about incorporating group therapy that is both meaningful and fun for patients as well as occupational therapy practitioners.

Bio: Katy Owens specializes in mental health and pain science. With a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, she helps individuals break the cycle of chronic pain, stress, and sleep disturbances through evidence-based, occupation-centered interventions. As a United States Coast Guard veteran with lived experience in chronic pain, Katy brings a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to her work. She integrates neuroscience, behavioral strategies, and holistic interventions to support clients in regaining function, building resilience, and improving their quality of life. Through education and practical strategies, Katy equips individuals with the tools they need for lasting well-being.

  Presenter: Anita Bundy, ScD, OT/L, FAOTA, FOTARA
Bio: Anita Bundy is an occupational therapist with more than 50 years’ experience in pediatric practice and 40 years as an educator. Her doctoral training and subsequent research focused on the development of theory, assessment and intervention related to play and playfulness. She is the author or co-author of three related published assessments: the Test of Playfulness (ToP), the Test of Environmental Supportiveness (for play) (TOES) and Parent/Caregiver Support of Children’s Playfulness (PC-SCP).

Presenter: Jordon Allard, MOT, OTR/L
Bio: Jordon Allard, MOT, OTR/L, is the founder and owner of ASPIRE Therapy & Wellness, a private practice dedicated to serving residents in senior living communities. With over 10 years of experience in occupational therapy, and 5 years of owning a private practice, she specializes in fostering therapist-driven, high-quality care models that prioritize collaboration and positive outcomes. Jordon has extensive experience in leadership, program development, business management, and geriatric rehabilitation. Passionate about empowering therapists, she advocates for flexible, clinician-centered environments that drive both job satisfaction and exceptional patient care.

Presenter: Holly Ross, OTR/L, WSI/T, LTP, ATRIC
Bio: Holly Ross is an OT that graduated from Eastern Michigan University in August 2018 with a combined bachelors in science and masters in Occupational Therapy degrees. In February of 2020, Holly opened her practice and unexpectedly grew it into her brand; CANOE. Holly will be presenting and highlighting one of her specialties; Aquatics. Approaching 15 years in the field of aquatics, she has innovated the field to not just consider orthopedics, but prevent drowning, improve family bonds, and achieve occupational flow. Licensed with Michigan & Colorado for occupational therapy, and nationally licensed as a water safety instructor/instructor-trainer & licensed facility training provider with the American Red Cross, Holly will show you what aquatics could hold for your daily practice.

  Presenter: Amanda Hoffman, MS, OTR/L, BCPR
Bio: Amanda Hoffman, MS, OTR/L, BCPR is a rehabilitation manager with over fifteen years of clinical experience. After earning a psychology degree, she began her career in advertising at E! Entertainment—quickly realizing Hollywood wasn’t for her. She pivoted to healthcare, completing a MS in Occupational Therapy at Tufts University in 2007.

A travel OT position brought Amanda to the ski slopes and a subacute rehab setting in Colorado, where she found her professional home. Since joining UCHealth in 2011, she has held multiple roles, including Senior OT, Specialist OT, Rehab Service Lead, and now Supervisor. Clinically, she is passionate about working with patients recovering from trauma, neurological conditions, and complex post-surgical cases, including burn injuries.

Committed to advancing acute care rehabilitation, Amanda focuses on measuring outcomes and promoting value-based rehabilitation and health equity. She values collaboration with academic research partners to drive meaningful improvements in patient care. One of AOTA's board-certified occupational therapists in Colorado, she has also held leadership positions at both the state and national levels. In 2022, she received the highest OT honor in Colorado for her leadership, clinical excellence, and contributions to research.

Presenter: Kerry Spencer, MS OTR/L

Bio: Kerry Spencer is currently working in an outpatient pediatric hospital based setting, specializing in feeding and swallowing. In addition to extensive training in feeding and swallowing, she also has training and education in perinatal mental health and lactation. Kerry has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient, school-based therapy, early intervention, acute care and maternal mental health.

  Presenter: Makenzie McCain, OTD, OTR/L
Bio: Hello! I’m Makenzie McCain, OTD, OTR/L, an occupational therapist and educator dedicated to helping students bridge the gap between education and real-world skills. My experience working in inpatient rehabilitation as an occupational therapist has taught me the importance of occupational performance and independent participation-- principles I now incorporate into my teaching. As a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Instructor at Cherry Creek Innovation Campus (CCIC) I design curriculum that aligns with collegiate level courses and equips high school students with the knowledge and hands-on experienced needed to prepare them for careers in healthcare. Whether through interactive learning, guest speakers, or work-based learning opportunities, I strive to make learning engaging, practical, and meaningful. My goal is to inspire students to discover their passions and gain the confidence to pursue them.

  Presenter: Krista Covell-Pierson, OTR/L, BCB-PMD
Bio: Krista Covell, OTR/L, BCB-PMD, is a board-certified pelvic health occupational therapist and the founder and owner of Covell Care and Rehabilitation, a mobile outpatient therapy company serving clients across Colorado. With extensive experience in pelvic floor therapy, Krista provides evidence-based care for adults across the lifespan, specializing in bowel and bladder health. She is passionate about increasing access to pelvic health services in home and community-based settings and mentors clinicians nationwide in building successful pelvic health programs. Krista previously served as President of the Occupational Therapy Association of Colorado (OTAC) and remains dedicated to advancing the profession. She is known for her collaborative teaching style, real-world clinical insight, and ability to make complex pelvic health concepts approachable, empowering therapists to provide confident, compassionate care.

Presenter: Amber Whitley, MOT, OTR/L, MS, CCLS
Bio: I am a mental health occupational therapist who currently practices at Denver Health on their locked adolescent psych unit. I received my MOT from CSU and previously worked in mental health as a Certified Child Life Specialist, helping kids cope with hospitalizations, procedures, and grief. I am passionate about helping kids regulate their emotions through individual coping skills and a firm believer in the power of nature as a therapeutic tool. I have been working to find ways to increase my nature-based occupational therapy interventions on a unit that has minimal outdoor access and maximum limitations due to safety concerns. My favorite occupations include educating, hiking, traveling, snowboarding and parenting.

  Presenter: Emily B. Tull, MSOT, OTR/L, EP-C
Bio: Emily Tull, MSOT, OTR/L, EP-C is a licensed occupational therapist, co-founder of Peaks & Bounds Inc., and faculty at Colorado State University. Her work centers on nature-based, neurodiversity-affirming OT services for children and young adults. Emily brings experience in outdoor therapy, sensory integration, and inclusive program design. She is passionate about embedding play, movement, and accessibility into outdoor spaces and advancing emerging, equity-centered OT practices.

  Presenter: Sarah Hauser, MA OTR/L

Bio: After graduating with a BSc in Occupational Therapy in Switzerland, I moved to the US and received my MA in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. With over a decade of experience in different settings specializing in pediatric and geriatric Occupational Therapy, I opened my own private mobile practice Bloom2Function in 2024 in Montrose. Most of my clients and their families live in rural areas and live off the land. Working on building my own homestead, I learned a lot about my clients daily life struggles to try and provide for themselves and their family all year long.

Bio: Jill Groskreutz is an occupational therapist who has volunteered as the Colorado Ambassador with NBCOT for four years. When she is not volunteering with NBCOT, she works as an occupational therapist for UCHealth, specializing in oncology rehabilitation and lymphedema therapy.

Bio: In May of 2025, I obtained my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Colorado State University. Throughout my education, I gained clinical experience across diverse settings, including acute care, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient pediatrics, and community-based pediatric care. I completed my Level IIB fieldwork at the CSU Early Childhood Center, where I contributed to an embedded occupational therapy model within an early childhood education setting. This experience allowed me to develop hands-on skills in supporting developmental outcomes for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. For my OTD capstone project, I conducted a scoping review on occupational therapy’s role in fostering self-regulation in preschool classrooms, aiming to advance this emerging area of practice through a health promotion approach.

Bio:  The Colorado OT Fieldwork and Capstone Consortium (COTFCC) is a partnership bridging OT and OTA academic programs to promote excellence and innovation in fieldwork education to best serve students and the community at large.

The goals of the COTFCC Consortium are to:

  • Mentor and support professional development for Academic Fieldwork Coordinators and Capstone Coordinators
  • Support and validate ways to problem solve and share strategies for excellence in fieldwork and capstone education
  • Education and exploration of non-traditional sites and alternatives for fieldwork and capstone education

Presenter: Angela Wibben, MM, MT-BC

Bio: Angela K. Wibben, MM, MT-BC, (she/her/hers), has been a board-certified music therapist since 2013 after completing her Masters of Music, in Music Therapy, from Colorado State University. She has been practicing within adult and pediatric medical settings throughout her professional career and has experience as an integral member of hospital interdisciplinary teams for palliative care, pediatric/adult oncology, neurosciences, ICU settings, and general medical/surgical units. She has earned specialization in hospice and palliative care music therapy (HPC-MT), neurologic music therapy (NMT), NICU and medical music therapy (NICU-MT), the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery in Music (GIM III), as well as therapeutic drumming facilitation. Angela is a classically trained percussionist, loves adventuring with her two little boys, and her guilty pleasure song is “Africa” by Toto.

Bio: Kaci DeWitt-Rickards received her B.S. in Education in 2011 from the University of Miami and her DPT in 2014 from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. The majority of her career has been dedicated to working with older adults throughout the continuum of care, and she earned Board-Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy in 2024. She currently practices in acute care at UC Health Highlands Ranch Hospital, where she enjoys working closely with interdisciplinary team members to provide high quality, coordinated care.

Bio: Becky Kinnison is an experienced occupational therapist with over a decade in clinical education and patient care. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor and Clinical Academic Education Coordinator at Creighton University, specializing in neuro and physical rehabilitation. Becky is board certified in physical rehabilitation and LSVT BIG. She has held significant roles at CHI Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute and is active in professional organizations. Becky serves on several committees, including the Nebraska Stroke Task Force and the Nebraska Stroke Conference Planning Committee. She has presented at numerous conferences and is committed to advancing occupational therapy through teaching, mentorship, and service.

Bio: Meet Sarah Putt, MA, OTR/L—a dynamic occupational therapist with over 15 years of experience turning tiny tots into triumphant toddlers! As the founder and clinical director of Sarah Bryan Therapy in Los Angeles, Sarah specializes in early intervention, bringing therapy right to families' living rooms for kids aged birth to three. When she's not on the floor with finger paints, she's behind the mic hosting the OT 4 Lyfe podcast, a show connecting and inspiring OT practitioners and students worldwide. Sarah also co-founded OTPreneur, guiding fellow practitioners on their journey to business success. A passionate entrepreneur, she's committed to empowering practitioners, mentoring students and amplifying the impact of occupational therapy across the globe.

  Presenter: Rey Erickson, OTR, MS
Bio: I graduated from Colorado State University in 1993 from the OT program. After 32 years of full time practice I retired but still work on-call at Advent Health Porter. Since retirement, I have taken up indoor climbing. I have been astonished at the improved abilities/decreased disability of both adults with Parkinson's and kids with developmental disabilities after they have completed indoor climbing. This exemplifies the OT tenant that engagement in activity improves our lives.

Presenter: Michelle LeRoy

Bio: Dr. Michelle LeRoy has worked as a practitioner, administrator, business owner and an educator. Her focus has been pediatrics through most of her career and currently is an assistant professor at Colorado State University. In the past few years her research has focused on OT supporting the transgender community and on supporting the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth. Michelle is currently the co-director for the OT LGBTQIA2S+ Fellowship and the RA for Colorado. She is committed toward helping our profession be diverse, equitable, inclusive and to have justice for all, including practitioners, students, and faculty in the OT profession.

Bio: Suzanne Holm is passionate about building connections and empowering people to find their voice. She has served as the Academic Program Coordinator and Associate Professor at Regis University for over a decade. Her experience as a writer and textbook co-editor of "Occupational Therapy in Acute Care” highlights her commitment to advancing OT education beyond the classroom into real-world practice. Her 30+ years as an OT and experience coordinating programs between two universities have provided unique insights into effective mentorship across diverse educational settings where she has used her strengths to empower students in their professional journeys. Dr. Holm’s academic leadership and clinical expertise create a strong foundation for implementing the mentor model in OT education.

Bio: Monica Callahan earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University (CSU) in May 2025. Monica is a 500-hour Certified Yoga Teacher and a 95-hour Certified Children’s Yoga Teacher. She is passionate about integrating Eastern and Western healing modalities into her work as a therapist. Monica has multiple fieldwork experiences in a variety of settings including a Day Center for Adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, Inpatient Psychiatry, School-Based Occupational Therapy, and an Outpatient Hand Clinic. Monica completed her Level IIB Fieldwork and Capstone at the Early Childhood Center at CSU. Working alongside preschool teachers and drawing upon her extensive yoga background, Monica created a yoga toolkit that empowers teachers to integrate yoga into their classrooms to promote self-regulation for both teachers and students.
