OT Representative

Name: Sarah Schmeda, OTD, OTR/L, CHT

What do you love about OT?

I love the creative and scientific mix that occupational therapy comes from. It's great working with kids with different injuries and using my anatomy brain and my creative brain to help progress them toward their goals.

How did you choose this profession?

I was introduced to this profession by a former college teammate who was in OT school at the time. She mentioned that she thought I would enjoy it and after I started looking into it and shadowing different OTs I never looked back.

Why did you choose to become an OTAC board member?

I chose to become an OTAC board member because I know all of the good that the occupational therapy progression contributes to the world. I believe that there is untapped potential that could come from growing our state occupational therapy association and creating a community of therapists that can learn and grow professionally from each other.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Colorado?

My favorite thing to do in Colorado in the Summer is take my German Shepherd on walks through Commons Park and hit up Little Man Ice Cream. In the Winter, I like to head to Winter Park or Copper for some snowboarding with my Fiancé.
