Time to Start Preparing for the 2018 Annual OTAC Conference

Posted: September 5, 2018

As OTAC’s conference committee continues to prepare for the 2018 Annual OTAC Conference, they also encourage you to prepare yourself for this experience!  We look forward to seeing you at the Radisson in Aurora, Colorado on October 12th and 13th. We continue with our “Top 5 to-do” list with #3.

3. Complete a Wardrobe Review:  While there is not set requirement for conference attire, most people dress business casual.  Make sure that you pack a comfortable pair (or two) of shoes that your feet will love from the wee hours of the morning into the evening and that can transition with your outfits from day to night.  Do you have any occupational therapy spirit wear? Make sure you bring it! If not, don’t worry, we will have logo wear and signature centennial t-shirts for sale at the venue. Lastly, plan to bring a little something dressy for our centennial celebration on Friday night!

OTAC Member Spotlight: Bailey LeBoeuf

Posted: September 5, 2018

This month OTAC would like to spotlight Bailey LeBoeuf, OTR/L. Aside from her a cat named Killer Mike and her mad skills with a hula hoop, Bailey demonstrates compassion towards our Denver Metro adult community by providing voluntary services to the DAWN clinic, which is a free, student-run, interdisciplinary clinic serving vulnerable adults in Aurora, and currently works for the PACE program with the senior population. She has been a member of OTAC for four years and has served on the OTAC legislative committee for the past few years. In May, Bailey was elected as the Public Policy Chair for 2018-2020. You can read more about Bailey by visiting the leadership page of the OTAC Website. OTAC thanks you, Bailey, for all that you do for our community and the Association!

Years with OTAC and on the board: 4 years with OTAC and this is my first board position

Why did you join OTAC and the board? I have volunteered on the Legislative Committee for a few years and have enjoyed learning about Colorado legislation, advocating for OT issues, and organizing OTAC Capitol Hill Day. When the position for Public Policy Chair opened I volunteered to fill the position in order to create a more seamless transition for the committee. It is important to me to represent Colorado OT practitioners through advocating for legislation that supports us, and I look forward to continuing to do as the Public Policy Chair.

A couple fun facts: I have a cat named Killer Mike after the Run the Jewels rapper. I love to ski and hula hoop, but not at the same time. I live in Idledale, Colorado with my fiance, Joe.

Deadline Extended For Award Nominations!

Posted: September 4, 2018

We have extended the deadline for nominations till September 14.

We are fortunate to work alongside incredible colleagues, and we all know people and companies who are engaged in significant, innovative work, whether their influence is at the forefront or in the background.  Why not recognize their contributions to the profession?!

Publicly acknowledge an exceptional coworker who goes the extra mile or above and beyond when serving the people in their care, being a treasured part of the team, or contributing value to the community.  There is something special about being recognized for a job well done: it shows appreciation for each other and the profession of which we are proud to be a part.

We all give of ourselves in serving others; take this opportunity to recognize a stellar partner for the difference they make.

Submit nominations for the following awards:

  • Marjorie Ball Award of Merit

  • Agatha Jackson COTA Award of Excellence

  • Dottie Davis Service Awards

  • OT-OTA Partnership Award

  • Recognition Awards
