The 2008 OTAC Conference was a huge success! A huge thanks to Janice Hinds, Karen Atler, Jennifer Fritz, Pam Dipasquale-Lehnerz and Maureen Sagan Cortes for coordinating this year's conference.
As the conference title indicates, “Celebrating Our Past and Future” OTAC celebrated 50 years since the introduction of occupational therapy assistants to the profession, the 30th Anniversary of OTAC’s incorporation (papers were signed 1/10/78); and Colorado now has Registration regulation for its Occupational Therapists!
OTAC was honored by Dr Penny Moyers Cleveland, AOTA President, as our Keynote Speaker; Dr Wendy Wood, the new Program Director at Colorado State University; and the first lady of Colorado, Ms. Jeannie Ritter, who provided the conference welcome on Friday morning.
To round off a packed two days, Colorado's Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) answered questions about new registration legislation that goes into effect January 1, 2009.
