The OTAC Conference was a Success!
“Doing, Being and Becoming” was this year’s theme
(Wilcock, A.A. (1999).
Reflections on doing, being and becoming. Australian Occupational Therapy Journal, 46(1), 1-11.).
Several highlights:
- Mr. Chuck Willmarth, Director of AOTA’s State Affairs Group, presented OTAC with a $6000 check from AOTA – to assist with the licensure efforts!! He was the Keynote Speaker and a panel member in the Legislative Update and discussions. His presentations were informative and an enthused call-to-action. He has been an absolute treasure to work with on CO’s licensure efforts.
- Dr. Ann Grady, AOTF Board of Directors, accepted OTAC’s contribution to the newly established AOTF Scholarship Fund. It was a delight to have her join us for Friday’s events, and hear her reflect on OTAC’s growth and commitment to the profession.
- Becky Robler gave an inspiring Marjorie Ball Award lecture, and Gerald Valdez gave a motivating Agatha Jackson Award speech. It was remarkable feat to surprise Mr. Terry Hawkins with the 2007 Marjorie Ball Award, and Ms. Stephanie Rae Dionisio with the Agatha Jackson Award. Congratulations!
- The Silent Auction was a huge success, with monies earmarked for “student scholarships” – plans are already being made for next year’s silent auction!
- The workshops were educational, the vendors were energetic, the Roundtable Discussions were filled with creative and encouraging ideas, and of course, the 4th Annual OTAC Soirée was a fun networking event!
- As anticipated, the annual OTAC Conference was an opportunity to learn, network, have fun, gather information, share ideas, grow professionally, meet new and old friends and colleagues, and support your profession.
- Thank you to all who assisted in the Conference’s success!
